My name is Valerio Narcisi, I live in Porto Sant'Elpidio. I make films and write code — more or less at the same hours of the day. Stories come first, though: everything else is the way I try to get them out of my head.
Since 2020 I've been part of five short films. The ones I directed are Caramella — winner at the Fano International Film Festival 2025 and the Premio GASP — and Non fa ridere, currently in editing after four days of shooting at Ristorante L'Oasi del Gusto in Piane di Falerone. On Arturo I co-wrote the story and screenplay with the director. On Pochi Istanti and Metanaro I worked as assistant director or screenplay supervisor.
I'm also building Oh Writers: a screenplay editor designed for how scripts are actually written in Italy. It's the place where my two things — code and cinema — finally talk to each other.
By day I work at Cleafy, where I've been for six years. I write software — TypeScript, React, design systems. Honestly I'm not sure what to call what I do anymore: with AI the craft is changing as I practice it, and "fullstack developer" no longer covers it. Before that I was at Fieldtronics and New System.
Outside of all this there's Adriana, and our daughters Bianca and Lea. That's the thing that keeps me together when everything else moves too fast.
If you have a screenplay, a project, an idea you need a second eye on — or just want to say something — write to me. I reply to everyone.
